Swanson Industries, Inc. in Morgantown, WV is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design hydraulic equipment from concept to manufacturing. You will manage projects, develop concepts, create drawings and BOMs, and support prototype testing on-site.

The role requires 5+ years in design, proficiency with AutoCAD and Excel, and strong problem-solving plus teamwork. Some travel to customer sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) or related field.
• Minimum of five years in design engineering or equivalent.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of mechanical drafting and working drawings.
• Advanced problem-solving and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Design hydraulic equipment, tools and systems from concept to manufacturing.
• Visit customer sites, gather needs and define problems.
• Develop conceptual layouts and prepare working drawings and BOMs.
• Coordinate manufacture and assembly of components and units.
• Test, evaluate and modify components to improve performance.
• Provide sales support and assist with pricing proposals as needed.
• Travel to customer/vendor sites; maintain safety and quality standards.
