Job summary

Avero is seeking a Senior Product Development Engineer to lead the design and development of hydraulic rotary actuators and related products. You will drive new product development, manage multiple projects, and collaborate with manufacturing, quality, sales, and marketing teams to deliver high-quality designs on schedule.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of delivering reliable, cost-effective products while mentoring other engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7+ years in product design and new product development within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software; Autodesk Inventor experience preferred.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, or the ability to learn quickly.
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Experience with Microsoft Project.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new products using 3D CAD software to meet specifications and tolerances.
• Review BOMs for accuracy before release and participate in design reviews.
• Apply GD&T and FEA to optimize performance and reliability.
• Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets; manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, sales, and marketing teams to support product success.
• Mentor design team members and maintain accurate engineering documentation.
• Identify opportunities for product and process improvements to reduce costs.
