Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Capital Projects Senior Cost Analyst in Houston for a hybrid work arrangement. You will monitor, analyze, and report project cost performance across engineering, procurement, and construction scopes, interfacing with project and client teams.

The role requires 7+ years of experience, a post-secondary degree, and strong skills in MS Excel, PowerBI, and SAP. You will develop budgets, baselines, forecasts, and variances to support project decisions.

Qualifications

• Essential: familiarity with project controls and related processes.
• 7+ years of experience in cost analysis or project controls.
• Post-secondary degree.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to multitask with diverse stakeholders.
• Willing to learn and contribute with attention to detail.
• Advanced MS Excel and/or PowerBI skills; working knowledge of SAP.

Responsibilities

• Implement project controls tools and methodology.
• Support month end closing, phase gate processes, and cost reporting.
• Assist in establishing project budgets and baselines.
• Develop project forecasts using estimates, schedules, and PO data.
• Monitor actual costs, analyze variances, document explanations.
• Prepare supporting docs for project teams and clients.
• Build reports to support monitoring and decision making.
