Job summary

Chugach Government Solutions is seeking an HVAC Technician at Moffett Field, CA, to perform Journeyman-level installation, maintenance, operation and repair of air handling units, chillers, boilers, VAVs, VRVs, fume hoods, pumps and motors under supervision.

You will diagnose problems, determine the best method, work with leads, order materials, comply with federal, state, NASA, OSHA and environmental laws, wear PPE, meet deadlines, and contribute to a positive team environment.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED; completion of HVAC apprenticeship.
Experience: 4-year journeyman or 2-year technical experience.
Training: CFC and HFC certification for universal type refrigerants.
Skill Requirements: Skilled in the use of hand and power tools common to the trade.
Ability to interpret and apply codes, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
Knowledge of operation/installation of a variety of complete HVAC systems/equipment.
Strong HVAC diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.

Responsibilities

Diagnose problems independently and determine the appropriate method and procedure needed to complete the work.
Work with the Lead and co-workers to ensure that the work specifications conform to shop standards.
Order materials needed for work in coordination with the Lead person.
Must comply with applicable federal, state, NASA, OSHA and environmental laws and regulations.
Wear PPE at all times as determined by position and duties.
Meet tight deadlines and handle potentially high-stress situations.
Create and maintain a positive team atmosphere with effective interpersonal skills.
