Job summary

MalaceHR is seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Technician to support operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial HVAC systems. This role emphasizes hands-on work with chilled water systems, RTUs, VRF/VRV systems, VFDs, pumps, AHUs, and related mechanical equipment.

The position requires performing preventive and corrective maintenance, documenting activities, and providing guidance to junior technicians to ensure safety and reliability of building systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• TDLR registration or HVAC license is required.
• EPA Section 608 Universal Certification is required.
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Able to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and sequences of operation.
• Valid driver's license as required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of commercial HVAC and mechanical systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot chilled water systems including chillers, pumps, valves, piping, coils, and controls.
• Service and repair RTUs, AHUs, FCUs, VAV boxes, split systems, and packaged HVAC equipment.
• Troubleshoot VRF/VRV systems, refrigerant circuits, controls, and communication issues.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and control-related HVAC failures.
• Troubleshoot and adjust VFDs, motors, belts, sheaves, bearings, dampers, actuators, and related components.
• Perform preventative maintenance: filters, coils, lubrication, belts, refrigerant checks, inspections, testing.
• Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and energy efficiency.
• Troubleshoot chilled and condenser water flow, pumps, valves, and control systems.
• Perform refrigerant recovery, evacuation, charging, leak detection per regulations.
• Interpret drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and operation sequences.
