Sodexo is seeking a Senior HVAC Technician at Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, IL. You will lead hands-on maintenance, uphold safety, and drive the preventive maintenance program as part of the HVAC leadership team.

We value teamwork, adaptability, and a strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, with EPA CFC certification and a valid driver’s license. The role offers full-time hours, rotating shifts, and a competitive pay range of $36–$44 per hour.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related work experience.
• EPA CFC Universal Certificate required.
• HVAC technician license/certification for the city/state of work.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
• Monitor systems and ensure preventive maintenance is performed to schedule.
• Respond to hot and cold calls and troubleshoot issues.
• Inspect and replace valves, motors, controls, wiring, and related components.
• May train new technicians in HVAC systems and BAS/BMS.
• Attend shifts on time and adapt to account requirements.

Senior HVAC Technician

Location: ADLAI E. STEVENSON HIGH SCHOOL - 56389001

Workdays/shifts: Mornings and afternoon/evenings - varying days, and rotating weekends. More details will be provided during the interview process.

Employment Type: Full-time

Pay Range: $36 - $44

What You’ll Do: As a Senior HVAC Technician at Sodexo, you are a problem-solver, safety promoter and integral member of the HVAC leadership team. We will rely on your expert knowledge and technical skills to manage the hands‑on portion of the preventative maintenance program. By keeping others safe, your actions have meaningful impact.

Responsibilities include:

• Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems


• Monitor HVAC systems and operations and ensure that routine preventive maintenance performs according to established schedules and standards


• Respond to hot and cold calls, then troubleshoot and resolve issues


• Check, repairs and/or replaces valves, motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring, fans, pumps, compressors, condensers, cores, pipes, and other functional components of the system


• Attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity


• May be responsible for training new technicians in commercial HVAC systems, building management systems (BMS) and building automation systems (BAS).


• Other duties may be assigned and can differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.

What You Bring:

• Successful candidates will be team‑oriented, adaptable, reliable, and nurturers of a healthy/safe working environment for all.


• 5 or more years of related work experience.


• Holds appropriate license/certification for the specific work to be done in the city and state in which the work will be done. Minimum requirement is EPA CFC Universal Certificate.


• Working knowledge of a variety of HVAC systems, including chilled water systems, variable air, variable refrigerant flow, single/multi‑split and other commercial systems.


• May be required to have previous BMS experience if working in a commercial environment.


• Additional Requirements: Possess a valid driver’s license
