Job summary

Corvant is seeking a Startup Technician IV to lead startup, commissioning, and performance verification of complex HVAC systems across mission-critical environments. This role requires deep technical expertise, autonomy, and collaboration with project managers, engineers, and installation teams to ensure full compliance with design specs and standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive HVAC experience with a focus in service/startup/commissioning.
• EPA Universal Certification required.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply information from blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manuals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with professional documentation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• System Commissioning: execute startup and commissioning for HVAC systems (RTUs, chillers, boilers, VAV/VRF) and related equipment.
• Testing and Troubleshooting: perform functional and performance tests; diagnose and resolve electrical/mechanical issues; verify thermostat/sensor operation.
• Documentation and Reporting: prepare startup checklists and commissioning reports; maintain detailed records; communicate findings clearly.
• Client Interaction: deliver system orientation and training; ensure client satisfaction with system performance.
• Safety and Regulatory Compliance: follow OSHA safety protocols; ensure compliance with codes and energy requirements before closeout.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: coordinate with installation teams, controls techs, PMs, and engineering; support QA and punch list items.
