Job summary

Highland Consulting Group is recruiting an experienced HVAC/Sheet Metal Project Manager for the Baltimore, MD area. You will lead large, complex projects, coordinate with schedulers, field leadership, subcontractors, and owners, and manage budgets and change orders from award through closeout.

The role requires strong leadership, profitability oversight, and excellent communication with owners and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and quality results.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing HVAC / Sheet Metal projects.
• Experience with project values over $20 million.
• Ability to lead project teams and manage controls, budgets, schedules, contracts, and cost reporting.
• Strong owner communication and change management.
• Coordinate across office, field, owner, and subcontractor teams.
• Stable work history delivering complex mechanical projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage HVAC / Sheet Metal projects from award to closeout.
• Coordinate with schedulers, field leadership, subcontractors, vendors, and owners to stay on time and within budget.
• Prepare, estimate, negotiate, and track change orders with documentation.
• Work with senior leadership to manage budgets, expenses, cost performance, and profitability.
• Administer contracts, subcontracts, procurement, and equipment buyout.
• Oversee the buyout process for subcontracts and equipment procurement.
• Maintain strong communication with owners and project stakeholders to align expectations.
• Ensure project records, reports, and closeout documentation are accurate and timely.
• Lead punch-list coordination with superintendent, owner's representative, and subcontractors.
• Build and maintain client relationships that support repeat business.
