Job summary

Western Environmental seeks an experienced mechanical engineer to lead HVAC and refrigeration design for commercial/industrial systems. You will develop detailed submittals, optimize energy efficiency, and ensure compliance with codes and project specs.

Collaboration with cross‑functional teams and client meetings are essential to meet scope and budget. The role requires a Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, 5–7 years of relevant experience, and familiarity with AutoCAD/REVIT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 5–7 years in HVAC and refrigeration design, analysis and implementation.
• Experience with cleanrooms, industrial labs, or cold storage.
• Familiar with transcritical CO2 and A2L refrigerants is a plus.
• PE license highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and analysis of HVAC and refrigeration on systems.
• Develop submittals: airflow diagrams, sequences of operations, data selections, calculations, sketches.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate designs into projects.
• Support departmental goals, stay current with industry trends.
• Attend project meetings and provide expert advisory to clients.
