Job summary

Walmart in Gainesville, GA seeks an experienced HVAC/R Technician to oversee installation and commissioning of systems, lead diagnostics across commercial refrigeration, and manage preventive maintenance programs. The role includes mentoring technicians, coordinating on-call coverage, and ensuring OSHA and EPA compliance on job sites.

You will manage refrigerant handling, track parts, and maintain vendor relationships while supporting safety and process improvements for store facilities.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration experience
• 6 years’ HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration experience with AAS in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
• Hold and maintain EPA Type I/II or Universal certification for refrigerant handling
• HVAC-R/Mechanical Journeyman
• 1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area or 2 years’ Walmart store experience
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report
• Commercial driving record with no DUI/DWI/OUI convictions in last 5 years
• Commercial driving record with no more than two moving violations in last 3 years
• No preventable accidents operating a CMV in last 3 years
• No serious traffic violations CMV last 3 years

Responsibilities

• Oversees installation and commissioning of HVAC/R systems, including ductwork and control panels
• Leads diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues
• Implements and monitors preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment life
• Manages rack systems, walk-ins, reach-ins, and refrigeration units
• Trains technicians and mentors less-experienced staff
• Participates in on-call rotation to support critical needs
• Coordinates service calls and manages regional workloads
• Maintains parts inventory and vendor relationships
• Ensures OSHA and EPA compliance and documentation
• Tracks and records maintenance logs and job notes
