Job summary

Walmart Inc. in Edmond, OK is hiring an HVAC/R technician to install and service commercial refrigeration and building systems. You will work on ductwork, controls, and energy management systems, ensuring safe, code-compliant operation across multiple facilities.

You will lead field teams, mentor apprentices, and coordinate with managers, customers, and service providers. The role requires EPA refrigerant handling certification, valid driver’s license, and ability to travel within the region.

Qualifications

• Option 1: Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
• Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
• Hold EPA certification for refrigerant handling (Type I and II or Universal).
• HVAC-R / Mechanical Journeyman may be required where applicable.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle report.
• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.

Responsibilities

• Installs HVAC and refrigeration systems including ductwork and control panels.
• Configures low ambient systems and direct digital controls.
• Interprets plans and schematics to ensure correct installation.
• Maintains preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime.
• Leads field teams and mentors apprentices on safety and procedures.
• Drives company vehicle and supports on-call rotations.
• Coordinates service calls and tracks parts and refrigerants.
• Documents work orders and warranty claims.
