Job summary

IMEG is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Rock Island, IL to lead HVAC-focused mechanical design on moderate-to-complex building projects. You will guide projects as a lead engineer or project manager, mentor junior staff, and ensure code-compliant, high-quality solutions while managing client expectations.

Requirements include a BS in Mechanical Engineering and PE license, with a minimum of 7 years in building design consulting (8+ preferred).

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License is required.
• 7+ years in the building design consulting industry; 8+ preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts for mechanical systems.
• Strong analytical skills in thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design for HVAC systems, producing detailed designs, specs, and calculations.
• Perform site assessments and develop analyses to support decisions.
• Engage with clients to gather requirements and maintain relationships.
• Conduct design reviews and apply IMEG quality controls.
• Provide mentoring and training, and assist with field issue resolutions.
