Job summary

IMEG is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Rock Island, IL to lead HVAC-focused design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for moderate-to-complex projects.

You will collaborate with engineers and consultants to deliver code-compliant mechanical system designs, oversee implementation, and ensure client satisfaction while supporting budgets, mentoring, and cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering required.
• PE license required.
• 7 years of building design consulting experience; 8 preferred.
• Strong analytical and design skills in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
• Proven client relations and leadership abilities.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design efforts for HVAC systems, producing designs, specs, and calculations per codes and IMEG standards.
• Perform site assessments and develop analyses to support design decisions.
• Partner with clients to gather requirements and maintain relationships.
• Conduct in-process design reviews and implement IMEG quality control processes.
• Provide technical training and mentoring; assist with field issue resolution.
