Job summary

Texas Children’s Hospital is seeking an HVAC Mechanic I to perform preventive maintenance and on-demand HVAC repairs in hospital environments. You will ensure safe, compliant operation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across patient care areas.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and specific Texas licenses, plus 3 years of service-related HVAC experience. Hospital or high-rise system experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One of the following licenses is required: AC/Refrigeration Contractor (ACR) from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation; HVAC State A with C endorsement (HVACAWC); HVAC State B with E endorsement (HVACBWE); Stationary Engineer, 1st Grade (STATENG1); Stationary Engineer, 2nd Grade (STATENG2); Stationary Engineer, 3rd Grade (STATENG3) from the City of Houston.
• 3 years of experience as an HVAC service-related technician required.
• Hospital experience preferred.
• High-rise HVAC systems experience preferred.
• Refrigeration certification preferred.
