Job summary

Daikin Applied, the world’s largest HVAC company, seeks a dedicated HVAC Journeyman for our Indianapolis, IN location. You will service a wide range of commercial and industrial equipment, including chillers, rooftop units, and boilers, performing inspections, testing, and diagnostics.

You will mentor apprentices, participate in safety programs, and complete jobsite hazard assessments while maintaining certifications and pursuing ongoing training opportunities within a unionized environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates Degree or HVAC certification preferred.
• 5+ years of related experience or equivalent.
• Journeyman status accepted by union.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform service of equipment including inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality (chillers, fan coils, water source heat pumps, AHU, rooftops, cooling towers, condenser tubes).
• Repair and replace defective equipment, components, or wiring.
• Maintain and inspect equipment to prevent premature breakdowns or callbacks.
• Conduct intermediate and advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, pipefitting, and brazing of commercial HVAC equipment.
• Educate customers on proper use, maintenance schedules, and manuals.
• Lead and mentor apprentice technicians through hands-on demonstrations.
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, and other reports promptly.
