Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking an HVAC Instrumentation Technician to support operation and maintenance of utility systems, Fab support equipment, and process instrumentation. The role involves troubleshooting, commissioning, training, and continuous improvement with a focus on safety and compliance.

The position requires journey-level expertise, familiarity with SOPs, and the ability to mentor junior technicians while coordinating with master techs and supervisors on priorities and projects.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required or equivalent
• Trade school diploma or cert of completion preferred
• Holds relevant electrical licensing or NCCER/CCST credentials
• Journeyman-level knowledge with ability to read specs/drawings
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex equipment and systems

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots equipment and assets to restore service quickly
• Leads and mentors junior technicians on safety and execution
• Contributes to development of best practices and techniques
• Commissioning and ensuring installations meet site specifications
• Supports training development for technician skill growth
• Monitors PM/maintenance quality and reports to supervisor
• Collaborates with operations, engineering, and controls teams
