Job summary

Mesa Energy Systems, Inc. in Fresno, CA is seeking a Senior Estimator to support the sales team through preconstruction activities, including site walks, scope development, budgeting, and proposal writing for HVAC retrofit projects.

The role requires deep experience in estimating, mechanical engineering, and construction management, with a strong working knowledge of California Mechanical Code and local codes. You will compile detailed estimates and coordinate with vendors and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of estimating, engineering, construction management, or business management experience.
• 4+ years’ experience with HVAC design and building construction.
• Knowledge of California Mechanical Code and local municipal codes.
• Experience with retrofit projects and energy analysis.

Responsibilities

• Actively gather information for estimating jobs from multiple sources.
• Interpret field conditions to determine project direction and costs for retrofit projects.
• Submit proposals, scopes of work, scheduling, and engineering solutions compliant with regulations.
• Generate sales proposals and Excel spreadsheets that comply with Title 24.
• Perform constructability and code compliance reviews and document risks.
• Plan and understand California Mechanical Code and local codes.
• Prepare replacement equipment lists, sheet metal, piping, and labor estimates.
• Obtain scopes of work and pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Assist with pricing change orders.
