Job summary

Matrix Technologies, Inc. seeks a Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer to lead design of HVAC and plumbing systems for diverse projects. Based at our Atlanta area office in Peachtree City, GA, you will guide technical quality, team growth, and client-facing activities.

A PE license and strong communication skills are essential for leadership and growth. The role emphasizes mentoring, developing design standards, and interfacing with clients, vendors, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Active Professional Engineering License.
• Six or more years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer-HVAC or equivalent.
• Six or more years of experience in Commercial or Industrial HVAC and Plumbing design consulting.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE code for comfort cooling, ventilation, and dust collection.
• Prior experience in a team leader or project leader position.
• Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Ability to travel up to 10% per calendar year.
• Must possess a valid and active driver's license.
• Technical report writing.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
• Knowledge/understanding of LEED and Green Building practices is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication, self-motivation, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a variety of HVAC and plumbing system design projects.
• Work with multi-disciplinary staff in designing and implementing mechanical systems in new or existing buildings.
• Directly interface with clients, vendors, and contractors to design and construct.
• Perform comprehensive HVAC system analysis, including load calculations, energy modeling, and system optimization.
• Follow local building design and energy codes and standards; interface with permitting office.
• Survey mechanical systems, equipment, and building conditions.
• Specify equipment requirements.
• Prepare construction documents, drawings, reports, and specifications.
• Maintain positive client relations and develop potential work opportunities.
• Supervise and direct assigned project personnel, including delegation of work and mentoring.
• Adhere to Quality System and discipline standards; work with PMs on proposals, budgets, and schedules.
• Work safely; adhere to Matrix and client safety standards.
