Job summary

Carrier is seeking a Senior Systems Test Engineer to lead testing of embedded HVAC control systems at our Indianapolis facility. This role focuses on developing tests for embedded controls, executing in labs and field trials, and collaborating across hardware, firmware, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure products meet requirements.

The position is full-time and onsite, reporting to the Associate Director, Firmware & Embedded Software, within a team of 15 and a broader department of 50.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
• 5+ years of embedded systems engineering experience.
• 5+ years integrating and testing complex embedded control systems.
• 3+ years of root cause analysis.
• Willing to travel up to 10% (domestic and international).

Responsibilities

• Define integration tests for HVAC systems with embedded teams.
• Act as systems integration test engineer in product development.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, software, and manufacturing engineers.
• Coordinate with field trial teams to identify and manage sites.
• Contribute to trade-off decisions between hardware and firmware testing.
• Write test specifications and plans for system verification and validation.
• Develop systems-level test cases and plans.
• Support risk identification reviews.
