VHV Company in Vermont seeks a Senior Engineer to lead HVAC and piping design on commercial projects, serving as Engineer of Record on complex designs. You’ll ensure code compliance, constructability, and coordination across teams while guiding junior engineers.

The role requires a PE or commitment to obtain one within two years, along with extensive HVAC experience. Expect field surveys, design reviews, and collaboration with project stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Design HVAC and piping systems for commercial projects with codes in mind.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or PE license, or equivalent.
• Ten years of related experience and ability to obtain PE within two years.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and excellent organizational skills.
• Proficient in Revit/AutoCAD preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and provide design leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed mechanical designs from field input and client discussions.
• Review and approve design work ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
• Perform heat loss/gain, system sizing, and equipment selection analyses.
• Prepare drawings and specifications for mechanical and plumbing systems.
• Provide engineering leadership and respond to RFIs and on-site challenges.
• Mentor engineers and technicians and promote process improvements.
• Maintain project documentation and support sales and operations.
