Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician with Niagara (Tridium) experience to support, troubleshoot, and maintain building mechanical systems and BAS infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, 8+ years of related experience including 5+ years in a job shop environment with hands-on electrical and controls work, and 5+ years of HVAC maintenance. Active Top-Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 8+ years related experience, including 5+ years in job shop environment with hands-on electrical and controls.
• 5+ years HVAC maintenance or controls experience.
• Niagara AX or Niagara N4 proficiency including navigation, basic programming, alarms, trends.
• Strong HVAC control theory knowledge: PID, sequence of operations.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings.
• Experience with low-voltage control systems; BACnet/Modbus/LonWorks preferred.
• EPA Universal Certification required or ability to obtain.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and independent work in critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC equipment (air handlers, VAVs, heat pumps, chillers, boilers, exhaust systems).
• Troubleshoot Niagara-based Building Automation Systems (Niagara AX/N4).
• Monitor and optimize BAS schedules, setpoints, alarms, and sequences.
• Field diagnostics on sensors, actuators, controllers, and wiring.
• Assist with BAS integrations, testing, and commissioning.
• Interpret mechanical, electrical, and control drawings for repairs and upgrades.
• Collaborate with engineering and controls teams on system improvements and energy efficiency.
• Document actions in CMMS/BAS logs.
• Maintain compliance with safety policies and codes.
• Collaborate with facility managers, contractors, and project teams.
