Job summary

AIR Carolinas, a member of the AIR Control Concepts family, seeks a Controls Application Engineer to design software for HVAC system controls and provide expert technical guidance to customers and teams. The role may supervise the Controls Team and requires travel.

Ideal candidates have programming knowledge with Niagara, CPT, and related certifications, plus leadership experience. Exempt, on-site role with strong collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• 2- or 4-year degree from an accredited trade school, college, or university preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience.
• Programming knowledge and certifications with Tridium/Niagara, CPT, Reliable, KMC, etc. a plus.
• Configuration knowledge of AAON Controllers, etc. a plus.
• Valid in-state Driver’s License and clean driving record; extensive travel required.

Responsibilities

• Gather information from customers on their needs and design software for controls.
• Ensure the program continues to work properly and plan future upgrades and maintenance.
• Frequently dial in through cradle points to troubleshoot issues.
• Collaborate with leadership to develop methods to increase productivity and expand markets.
• Coordinate with Service Coordinator/Project Manager on scheduling, invoicing, and billing issues.
• Assist technicians with difficult tasks and provide guidance.
