Job summary

AIR Carolinas, part of the AIR Control Concepts family, is seeking a Controls Application Engineer in Charlotte, NC to design software for HVAC controls and advise customers on optimal control solutions. You may supervise the Controls Team and collaborate with service leadership to maximize system performance.

The role emphasizes programming and control knowledge, customer focus, and cross-functional coordination. Travel is required, and a valid driver's license is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree preferred (2- or 4-year) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience.
• Programming knowledge and certifications with Tridium/Niagara, CPT, Reliable, KMC, etc. are a plus.
• Configuration knowledge of AAON Controllers, etc. is a plus.
• Valid in-state Driver’s License and clean driving record; extensive travel required.

Responsibilities

• Gathers information from customers and designs software for controls to match needs.
• Ensures the program continues to work properly and recommends upgrades and maintenance.
• Troubleshoots via cradle point to resolve issues.
• Coordinates with Service Leadership to increase productivity, expand markets, and drive business.
• Works with the Service Coordinator/Project Manager on scheduling, invoicing, and billing issues.
• Provides guidance to technicians for difficult tasks.
• Attends meetings to exchange product information and coordinate with other departments.
• Coordinates safety training and professional development for the team.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
