Job summary

HTS Engineering Ltd. in Houston, TX, is seeking an experienced maintenance technician to service industrial mechanical systems including air-cooled and centrifugal chillers, pumps, cooling towers, AHUs, and related equipment. You will perform routine and unscheduled maintenance on these systems.

You will diagnose defects, source parts, calibrate equipment to manufacturer specs, and clearly explain issues and needed corrections to customers. Night/weekend on-call rotates may apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must have valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• HVAC certification and OSHA 10 Training at minimum.
• 5+ years in chiller/HVAC maintenance or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and unscheduled maintenance and repair of industrial mechanical systems including chillers, pumps, cooling towers, AHUs, valves and VAV systems.
• Diagnose and repair defects in electronic, mechanical and electrical components, source parts, calibrate to manufacturer specs, and explain issues to customers.
• Oversee installation and operation of various mechanical systems.
• Lead training efforts and develop materials/tools to support chiller/HVAC maintenance business.
• Be available for after-hours emergencies on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, and unscheduled, maintenance and repair of industrial mechanical systems including air cooled chillers, centrifugal chillers, pumps, cooling towers, air handler units, valves, fan coil units, variable air volume systems, etc.
• Diagnose and repair of machine and equipment defects including electronic, mechanical, and electrical components related to these systems. Also includes diverse service issues, obtain any replacement parts, calibrate system to manufacturer’s recommendations, and explain fully to customer what the issue is and what is needed to correct.
• Oversee installation and operation of various mechanical systems.
• Lead role in defining and developing the training, materials, and tools needed to support our chiller/HVAC maintenance business.
• Be available to work some nights or weekends, on a rotating basis, to service emergency needs of our customers.

The Required Profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must have valid driver’s license with good driving record
• Must have current HVAC certification and OSHA 10 Training plus
• Previous experience of5+ years in chiller/HVAC maintenance, mechanical engineering, or other related fields.
