Job summary

Clear Destination Inc. is seeking an experienced Chiller Service Technician to perform inspections and maintenance of industrial chillers and related HVAC systems. The role requires strong customer service, collaboration with Project Managers, Service Coordinators, and customers.

You will diagnose, repair, and calibrate components, oversee installations, and contribute to training materials. Some nights or weekends rotation for emergencies is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• HVAC certification required.
• OSHA 10 Training required.
• 5+ years in chiller/HVAC maintenance or related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and unscheduled maintenance and repair of industrial mechanical systems including chillers, pumps, towers, AHUs and related equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, electronic, and mechanical defects; obtain parts and calibrate systems per manufacturer specs.
• Oversee installation and operation of mechanical systems; coordinate with customers and internal teams.
• Participate in developing training materials and tools to support chiller/HVAC maintenance business.
• Be available for night or weekend calls to service emergencies on a rotating basis.
• Maintain company vehicle and keep parts, tools, and safety equipment in stock and up to date.
• Document all service tasks with make/model/serial numbers, test measurements, and photos.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Chiller Service Technician. This position will be responsible for performing chiller inspections and maintenance. An ideal candidate will be customer service oriented and work well with others. Position requires a high level of correspondence with Project Managers, Service Coordinators and customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, and unscheduled, maintenance and repair of industrial mechanical systems including air cooled chillers, centrifugal chillers, pumps, cooling towers, air handler units, valves, fan coil units, variable air volume systems, etc.
• Diagnose and repair of machine and equipment defects including electronic, mechanical, and electrical components related to these systems. Also includes diverse service issues, obtain any replacement parts, calibrate system to manufacturer’s recommendations, and explain fully to customer what the issue is and what is needed to correct.
• Oversee installation and operation of various mechanical systems.
• Lead role in defining and developing the training, materials, and tools needed to support our chiller/HVAC maintenance business.
• Be available to work some nights or weekends, on a rotating basis, to service emergency needs of our customers.
• Maintain good working order of company vehicle including refueling as necessary, reporting any mechanical issues. Vehicles should be washed on a regular basis. Proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment shall always be maintained in the vehicle.
• Maintain all relevant documentation related to all services and tasks performed, including make, model, serial number, necessary test measurements, and pictures, as necessary.
• Provide detailed, complete, and timely paperwork as required.
• Identify and report to supervisor/manager potential business, including site visits, conference calls with subcontractors and cost estimation.
• Provides updates to communicate to dispatch, parts procurement, supervisors, and managers, as needed, to keep company and customers informed about work progressions.
• Scheduling and coordinating services with the customer.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The Required Profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must have valid driver’s license with good driving record
• Must have current HVAC certification and OSHA 10 Training plus
• Previous experience of5+ years in chiller/HVAC maintenance, mechanical engineering, or other related fields.
