Job summary

Chesapeake Controls is seeking an experienced SR HVAC Boiler & Chiller Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and startup commercial and industrial boiler and chiller systems in our Chesapeake, VA area projects. You will lead repairs, calibrate controls, read blueprints, mentor apprentices, and ensure safety and customer satisfaction under our service department.

This role requires EPA certification, 8+ years of HVAC service, and a valid driver’s license; Virginia journeyman/master

Qualifications

8+ years of commercial HVAC service experience.
EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification required.
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
Virginia HVAC Journeyman or Master License preferred.
Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) preferred.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, repair, maintain, and commission boilers, chillers, and related HVAC equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and system performance testing.
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, combustion, hydronic, and control system issues.
Service centrifugal, screw, scroll, reciprocating, and absorption chillers.
Calibrate and troubleshoot building automation and control systems for boiler/chiller operation.
Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and sequences of operation.
Perform equipment startups, commissioning, and testing.
Prepare service reports and work orders accurately and timely.
Communicate repair recommendations and system status to customers and team.
