Job summary

Dashiell seeks a Senior Technician to perform electrical testing, maintenance, and start-ups of high voltage substations at our Port Arthur, TX site. You will lead crews, interface with clients, and enforce safety practices on every job.

Requirements include 10+ years in HV testing, switching operations, and protective relaying; strong diagram interpretation; proficiency with MS Office and standards such as IEEE/NETA. Travel up to 50% is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associates or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Ten+ years of electrical testing, maintenance, and substation start-ups required.
• Experience with low, medium, and high voltage switching operations.
• Ability to read one-line and three-line diagrams, schemes, and transformer configurations.
• Experience with protective relaying programming/testing software.
• Metering experience: ammeters, voltmeters, frequency meters, power factor meters.
• Knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, ICEA, and NETA standards; Power Triangle familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical testing, maintenance, and start-ups of high voltage substations.
• Lead crews and serve as client liaison; ensure safe work practices.
• Generate technical reports detailing services, problems, and actions.
• Communicate project status and schedule manpower/equipment to management.
• Prioritize safety and conduct safety meetings; complete JSTAs.
