Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a High Voltage (HV) Superintendent – Self-Perform Installation & Commissioning to lead field crews in safe, high-quality installation, testing, and commissioning of substation and transmission projects across North America. You will develop work plans, coordinate labor, troubleshoot issues, and work hands-on with the team, ensuring EHS, quality, and schedule adherence.

Ideal candidates have a degree in electrical engineering or related field, 5+ years of HV

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
Minimum 5+ years direct field HV substation construction/commissioning experience.
Strong technical knowledge of HV systems and standards (IEEE, NETA, NEC, NESC).
Hands-on experience with primary/secondary systems, protection & control wiring, testing procedures, drawings, and test plans.
Excellent leadership, planning, communication, and field execution skills; ability to work independently.
Willingness to travel extensively across North America; valid driver’s license and site access clearances; certifications such as NETA or OSHA 30 are a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead in-house crews in installation, wiring, testing, and commissioning of HV equipment (115kV–765kV).
Develop daily work plans, allocate resources, supervise craft labor to meet safety, productivity, and quality goals.
Perform hands-on installation and testing with the team, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Coordinate with project management, engineering, and commissioning teams to align field execution with requirements and schedules.
Promote and enforce EHS standards and maintain documentation of progress, tests, and turnover.
Support commissioning activities and mentor crew members.
