Job summary

WCL Group is seeking a Senior HV Electrical Authorized Person for offshore and onshore wind projects in the United States. You will oversee high-voltage safety, system integration, commissioning, and electrical authorization for WTGs, offshore and onshore substations, and HV submarine/cables.

The role requires AP/SAP experience, extensive HV switching expertise, and strong knowledge of electrical standards. Offshore rotation and a 13-month contract term with extension potential apply.

Qualifications

  • Experience in HV electrical operations and commissioning.
  • Strong background with high voltage systems, offshore wind or complex energy projects.
  • Qualified to contain AP/SAP authorization.
  • Minimum 3 years with onshore substation systems.
  • Experience reviewing RAMS and switching documents.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Electrical Safety Rules and safe systems of work.
  • Provide final authority for MV/HV switching and isolations.
  • Define electrical safety procedures and site instructions.
  • Manage HV/MV/LV commissioning across project phases.
  • Oversee safety inspections, audits and RAMS review.
  • Coordinate with utilities/grid operators for commissioning.
  • Develop and review switching programs and diagrams.
  • Mentor HV Authorized Persons and project personnel.
  • Support FAT/SAT activities for HV equipment.
