Job summary

Semco Maritime seeks a lead HV technician based in the New Bedford area to support onshore and offshore substations and wind projects. You will test and maintain HV equipment, coordinate protections, and assist energization and commissioning efforts.

The role requires flexibility for offshore schedules and 20% travel along the US East Coast, with opportunities to influence project direction and become an industry leader in offshore wind.

Qualifications

• At least one licensing or credential in electrical power work (see options).
• Hands-on with MV/HV cables, transformers, and switchgear.
• Substation experience in utility, industrial, or testing roles.

Responsibilities

• Test and maintain switchgear, transformers, and protection systems in substations and wind turbines.
• Perform relay testing, breaker timing and coordination, insulation resistance and power factor checks.
• Support commissioning during energization and troubleshoot asset issues.
• Provide SME input to project management on electrical matters.
