Job summary

Aon is seeking a Senior Scientist - Hurricane Model Developer for the Impact Forecasting team in a hybrid arrangement with the Boston or Chicago office. You will develop catastrophe models for hurricanes, apply advanced analytics, and support clients with risk insights and resilience planning.

The role requires strong quantitative skills, experience with Python/SQL, and the ability to transform research into practical modeling solutions.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree or equivalent industry experience in a quantitative field.
• Experience developing or enhancing catastrophe/risk models.
• Strong analytical and statistical problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, R, or similar languages; building tools/workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop hurricane and tropical cyclone catastrophe models and components.
• Analyze large meteorological and geospatial datasets for model development.
• Build automated data processing and forecasting workflows.
• Document methodologies and validation results for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver modeling enhancements.
