Job summary

Johns Manville is seeking a Senior Human Resources Manager to lead HR activities for the Waterville manufacturing complex, part of our Engineered Products division with two plants and a unionized workforce. This hands-on leader partners with site leadership to align people strategies with business goals while guiding a small HR team on labor relations, talent management, and compliance.

The role requires 8+ years of HR experience (5+ in leadership), manufacturing exposure, and union

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Psychology, Industrial Relations, or related field.
  • HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) preferred
  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience, including significant manufacturing experience.
  • 5+ years of HR leadership experience.
  • Experience supporting a unionized workforce and administering collective bargaining agreements.
  • Strong employee relations, labor relations, talent management, and leadership coaching skills.

Responsibilities

Pay Range

$111,400.00-$153,100.00 Annual

This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.

Senior Human Resources Manager

Johns Manville is seeking a Senior Human Resources Manager to lead all HR activities for the Waterville manufacturing complex. This complex is part of our Engineered Products businessdivision and consistsof twoplants,a separate warehouse,and a unionized workforce. This hands-on leadership role serves as a strategic partner to site leadership while directly supporting day-to-day HR operations.

Leading a team of one HR Manager and one HR Specialist, the Senior HR Manager is responsible for labor and employee relations, talent management, workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, compliance, employee engagement, and leadership development. The ideal candidate combines strong labor relations experience with the ability to influence business outcomes and build a high-performing culture.

Your Day-to-Day:
  • Partner with site leadership to align people strategies with business objectives and operational goals.

What You Bring to the Team:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business,Psychology,Industrial Relations, or related field.

  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience, including significant manufacturing experience.
  • 5+ years of HR leadership experience.
  • Experience supporting a unionized workforce and administering collective bargaining agreements.Collective bargaining negotiation experience preferred
  • Strong employee relations, labor relations, talent management, and leadership coaching skills.
  • Experience navigating complex employee relations matters within a collaborative decision-making environment, balancing business needs, legal considerations, and company policies through partnership with Operations, Legal, and Corporate HR.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence leaders, solve complex people issues, and drive business results.
Work and Travel Requirements
  • Ability to travelon alimitedbasis - less than 10%
  • Ability to support off-hoursas needed for 24/7 manufacturing environment
  • Office-basedat the manufacturing facilitywith expectation to have significant presence on theproductionfloor.
  • Must be able to comply with all site safety requirements, including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) when in operational areas.
  • May occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.
