Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Senior HR Manager for the Excavation Division to partner with global leaders and deliver people strategies across the U.S. and Europe.

The role focuses on performance management, total rewards, HR analytics, and mobility, with strong consulting capability and cross-functional leadership. You will lead 5–10 HR professionals, collaborate with Centers of Excellence, and drive change management to deploy HR programs within the organization.

The Senior Human Resources Manager for the Excavation Division manages a broad scope of responsibilities that includes support for U.S. Manufacturing Operations, our European Design Center and global Product Management organizations. In addition, this role helps to set the division HR strategy and govern strategic HR initiatives and is responsible for division people processes including performance management, advanced compensation/total rewards, HR analytics and mobility programs.

This role partners with leaders at all levels globally to deliver people strategies aligned to business objectives and provides leadership across core HR disciplines including employee relations, talent management, workforce planning, compliance, and organizational effectiveness. The position requires strong consulting capability, data-driven decision making, strong global collaboration and the ability to influence at multiple organizational levels.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Excavation HR team in this key position to make a significant contribution to our strategic goals and help us Win With Our People.

What You Will Do:
  • Act as a trusted coach providing guidance to leaders and managers on HR-related matters, including performance management, compensation and benefits and organization design.
  • Align HR policies and programs for the division, facility or region which promote employee engagement, retention, and performance.
  • Analyze HR metrics and data to identify trends and opportunities and develop a story to provide data-driven recommendations to senior management.
  • Collaborate with senior management as a strategic advisor helping identify and prioritize HR initiatives that align with the organization's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Lead a team of 5-10 HR professionals to collaborate effectively with other Centers of Excellence and serve as thought leaders to the business and HR.
  • Develop and implement change management methods and materials to facilitate deployment of HR programs and processes within a specific organization.

  • Education: Degree or equivalent experience desired

  • Leadership: Knowledge of leadership practices and processes; ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get there.
  • Human Resources Consulting: Knowledge of HR approaches, tools and techniques; ability to inform, guide and advise managers in HR-related initiatives.
  • Talent Management: Knowledge of how an organization attracts, recruits, retains, identifies and develops talent; ability to develop the talent required for an organization to achieve its short-term and long-term goals.

  • This position will be located in Peoria, IL
  • This role requires 5 days a week in office
  • Domestic relocation is available for those who qualify

Summary Pay Range:

$159,120.00 - $238,680.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
