Job summary

Lakeside HR Group has been engaged to recruit a Senior HR Generalist with a strong focus on employee relations to join a growing team in Minnesota. This hands-on role partners with leaders and employees on investigations, performance management, and culture initiatives.

You will coach leaders, ensure policy compliance, and support onboarding, workforce planning, and retention efforts in a visible, onsite environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of progressive HR experience.
• 2+ years in employee relations, investigations, and performance management.
• Experience advising leaders on employee relations matters.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organizational skills for a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable in a fully onsite, highly visible HR role.
• HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR preferred.
• Ability to travel occasionally (~10%).

Responsibilities

• Facilitate new-hire orientation and onboarding, development, retention.

• Partner with HR to implement programs and drive continuous improvement.
• Promote positive workplace culture through engagement and wellness initiatives.
• Build strong relationships with employees and leaders as a trusted HR resource.
• Support other HR projects as needed.

This newly created position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys being highly visible and hands‑on. You’ll serve as a trusted HR partner to leaders and employees, with a strong focus on employee relations, coaching, investigations, performance management, and workplace culture, while also supporting a broad range of HR initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with leaders and employees on employee relations matters, including workplace investigations, conflict resolution, performance management, and corrective actions.
• Coach and advise leaders on effective people management practices, employee engagement, and talent development.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws.
• Facilitate new‑hire orientation and support onboarding, employee development, and retention initiatives.
• Support recruiting and workforce planning efforts.

• Demonstrated experience advising leaders and employees on a wide range of employee relations matters.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
• Excellent communication, coaching, problem‑solving, and relationship‑building skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Comfortable working in a highly visible, fully onsite HR role.
• HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR is preferred.
• Ability to travel occasionally between local company facilities, approximately 10%.
