Position Summary

The Senior HR Generalist serves as a strategic and hands-on partner to business leaders, supporting a distributed, field-based workforce in a fast-paced operational environment. This role is responsible for executing core HR functions while driving consistent, scalable people practices across the organization. The Senior HR Generalist provides expertise in employee relations, talent management, compliance, and workforce planning, while leveraging data and HR systems to support business objectives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Partner closely with operations leadership to deliver HR solutions aligned with business strategy, workforce needs, and operational priorities.
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for assigned client groups, including workforce planning, sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding, with a focus on skilled technical and field roles.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on employee relations matters; conduct investigations, recommend actions, and ensure consistent and fair application of policies.
  • Drive performance management processes, including goal setting, coaching, corrective actions, and talent development planning.
  • Support organizational effectiveness initiatives, including leadership development, succession planning, and employee engagement strategies.
  • Interpret and apply HR policies, ensuring alignment with company culture and compliance requirements; recommend updates as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including wage and hour regulations, FMLA, ADA, and safety-related requirements common in industrial environments.
  • Partner with HR leadership to analyze workforce metrics (turnover, headcount, hiring trends) and provide actionable insights to improve business outcomes.
  • Administer and support HR programs including compensation, benefits, leave management, and recognition programs.
  • Facilitate onboarding and integration activities to support retention and productivity, particularly for field-based employees.
  • Support change management initiatives related to growth, organizational changes, and operational improvements.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior HR team members, promoting consistency and development across the HR function.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and leverage HRIS systems to ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy.
  • Respond to employee and manager inquiries, escalating complex or sensitive issues as appropriate.
  • Participate in safety initiatives and reinforce a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs.
Education, Experience, & Training
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 5-8+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably within energy services, industrial, manufacturing, or field-based environments.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multi-site or geographically dispersed workforces.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, ADP, UKG) and data reporting/analytics.
  • Professional certification preferred (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP).
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align HR practices to operational goals.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to navigate complex employee relations issues with sound judgment and discretion.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze trends and make recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR technologies.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to work in both office and field environments, including occasional visits to operational sites.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
  • Occasional travel required to support field locations.
