Job summary

Fortis Life Sciences, LLC seeks a Senior Human Resources Generalist to provide comprehensive HR support onsite in Montgomery, TX. You will lead full-cycle recruiting coordination, partner with hiring managers on onboarding, advise on HR policies, and assist with investigations, compliance and employee relations.

The role includes maintaining HRIS data, benefits and payroll coordination, and ensuring policy adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred; equivalent HR experience considered.
• Minimum 3 years of progressive human resources experience, preferably as an HR Generalist.
• Experience in life sciences, manufacturing, or agriculture preferred.
• PHR or SHRM-CP certification highly desired.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle recruiting coordination and partner with hiring managers on hiring and onboarding to support a consistent, positive employee experience.
• Act as a primary HR point of contact for employees and managers, offering guidance on HR policies and employee relations.
• Support HR investigations, conflict resolution, and corrective action while maintaining confidentiality and compliance.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data, support benefits and leave administration, and coordinate with payroll to keep employee transactions timely and accurate.
• Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and company policies, including upkeep of employee handbooks, HR procedures, and required documentation.
• Support performance management by advising managers and employees on goal setting and performance reviews, performance improvement plans, and employee development.
• Contribute to recognition, retention, and communication initiatives to support a positive and productive workplace.
• Identify HR process improvements, support strategic HR initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain consistent and efficient HR practices across multiple locations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant HR experience considered.
• Minimum 3 years of progressive human resources experience, preferably as an HR Generalist or another broad-based HR role.
• Experience in life sciences, manufacturing, or agriculture preferred.
• Professional HR certification (PHR or SHRM-CP) highly desired.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices.
• Knowledge of benefits administration, HR compliance, and payroll-related processes.
• Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications; experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive employee matters with discretion.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and build effective working relationships with employees and managers at all levels.
