Job description

Senior Human Resources Business Partner - Centralia, MO

The HR Generalist III is responsible for running the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring, interviewing, benefits, and enforcing company policies and practices. This role partners with plant leadership to foster a high-performance culture, promoting ownership, goal attainment, and continuous learning and improvement at all levels of the plant. Serves as a resource providing customer service support to employees by responding to inquiries, questions, and providing information regarding policies, procedures, and programs. Responsibilities include processing requests/documents and updating HR systems to ensure efficient service delivery.

Daily Responsibilities
  1. Providing HR support to manufacturing employees, maintaining positive employee relations and engagement.
  2. Recruiting, interviewing, and facilitating the hiring of qualified candidates; collaborating with managers to understand skill requirements.
  3. Preparing offer letters, new hire packages, conducting orientation, and employee recognition programs.
  4. Conducting background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  5. Assisting with the College Internship program, including campus recruiting, onboarding, and event coordination.
  6. Organizing employee wellness and engagement activities.
  7. Coordinating performance review programs for effectiveness, compliance, and fairness.
  8. Working with Plant Leadership on job descriptions and compensation adjustments.
  9. Communicating policies and procedures clearly to ensure a customer-driven environment.
  10. Providing advice on employee relations, ensuring appropriate counseling and support.
  11. Supporting managers with timekeeping and attendance to ensure payroll accuracy.
  12. Ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  13. Collaborating with HR partners and other departments to deliver HR support.
  14. Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications for Success
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or Management (preferred).
  2. At least 3 years of relevant HR experience.
  3. Minimum of 2 years HR experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting.
  4. Strong judgment, decision-making, and creative problem-solving skills.
  5. Ability to conduct difficult conversations tactfully.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  7. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  8. Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  9. Ability to learn HRIS and talent management systems quickly.
  10. Strong analytical skills.
  11. Union experience is a plus but not required.
  12. Integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
