Job summary

TerraForm Power in Virginia or North Carolina (remote/field-based) seeks a Senior Associate, HSSE to lead regional safety, environmental, and regulatory programs across renewable energy facilities and construction sites.

You will partner with Operations, Engineering, and Development to influence decisions, conduct complex investigations, and drive continuous safety improvements while ensuring regulatory compliance for assets in your region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive HSSE experience in renewable energy, utility, construction, or heavy industrial operations.
• Demonstrated experience leading regional HSSE programs and conducting complex incident investigations.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance, and HSSE management systems.
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional leaders, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively at all levels.
• Professional safety certification (e.g., CSP, ASP, CIH, CHMM) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior regional HSSE advisor supporting Operations leadership across multiple renewable energy facilities and construction projects.
• Lead the regional implementation, governance, and continuous improvement of TerraForm's HSSE Management System.
• Develop regional HSSE improvement strategies aligning with corporate objectives while addressing unit-specific risks.
• Translate regulatory requirements into practical operational standards and provide guidance on developments.
