Job summary

Mars Incorporated is seeking an Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager to drive site HSE strategy for Yorkville and Northwestern Flavors facilities. You will lead the Safety Pillar, champion BBS, and align safety with productivity and profitability.

The role requires a strong background in regulatory compliance (EPA, OSHA, DOT), incident investigations, and cross-functional leadership to foster a culture of safety and environmental stewardship within the community.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Safety Management, Industrial Safety, Sciences, Engineering, or Industrial Hygiene.
• 5+ years of progressive experience implementing and managing HSE and/or industrial hygiene programs in manufacturing.
• Strong regulatory knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and DOT standards.
• Strong collaborative leadership with the ability to influence across the site.
• Ability to present technical material effectively to large groups, site management, and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

• Act as the site's Safety Pillar leader to support Mars Supply Excellence strategy and manage the HSE budget.
• Champion Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) to support the site and mentor safety professionals.
• Ensure 100% compliance with environmental permits and regulations and conduct risk reviews.
• Lead root-cause investigations and partner with Occupational Health on injury case management.
• Lead Site Emergency Organization and oversee Contractor Safety program.
