Job summary

Borusan Pipe U.S., Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing HSE Engineer to lead the development and continuous improvement of health, safety, and environmental systems across our Baytown site.

You will work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and leadership to identify hazards, implement controls, and drive risk reduction in a heavy manufacturing setting. The ideal candidate has five or more years of HSE experience in complex manufacturing, strong knowledge of OSHA requirements, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Operational/Industrial/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Five+ years of HSE experience in heavy manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and standards.
• Experience with hazard identification and risk assessment methodologies.
• Experience with machine safeguarding and LOTO.
• Experience leading incident and near-miss investigations.
• Experience reviewing equipment modifications and capital projects from HSE perspective.
• Strong data analysis, trend identification, and ability to drive improvements.
• Ability to influence Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and leadership.
• Proficient in MS Office for HSE reporting and data management.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve HSE programs, standards, and engineering controls.
• Serve as technical HSE resource to Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and site leadership.
• Lead risk assessments of equipment, processes, and activities; implement corrective actions.
• Evaluate machine guarding and safeguarding, partner with Engineering/Maintenance for controls.
• Own and improve the hazardous energy control/LOTO program; ensure compliance.
• Lead or facilitate investigations of injuries, incidents, and near-misses with root-cause analysis.
• Contribute to design/review of equipment, capital projects, and process changes for HSE.
• Support commissioning/startup activities with safety reviews and PSSR.
• Participate in or lead MOC activities related to equipment/process changes.
• Develop and maintain site programs for machine safety, ergonomics, PPE, contractor safety, etc.
• Perform HSE inspections, audits, and field assessments; track corrective actions.
• Collaborate with frontline employees to identify hazards and implement controls.
• Develop, track, and analyze leading/lagging HSE indicators; report trends.
• Deliver HSE training, guidance, and communications to stakeholders.
• Support industrial hygiene activities and environmental compliance tasks.
• Support contractor safety programs and performance.
• Maintain accurate HSE records and regulatory documentation.
• Monitor changes to HSE regulations and industry practices; recommend updates.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and safety culture efforts.
