OpenAI is seeking a Senior HR Business Partner in San Francisco or New York to serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and their teams. You will help set direction for how we organize, grow, and lead—designing systems and coaching managers while reporting to an HRBP Lead.

This individual contributor role blends strategic advising with hands-on support, aiming to improve decision quality, leadership capability, and organizational effectiveness in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of HR experience, including at least 5 years as an HR Business Partner.
• Strategic partnering to guide leaders through trade-offs and priorities.
• Ability to develop leadership capabilities across organizations.

Responsibilities

• Shape high-performing, resilient teams by partnering with leaders on structures and talent plans.
• Collaborate with HRBPs, COEs, and cross-functional leaders to create a humane, impactful employee experience.
• Evolve People programs to strengthen performance, engagement, and retention with scalable solutions.
