Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a lead Human Resource Policy Specialist to support the development, review, interpretation, and implementation of HR policies across the enterprise. You will guide a team and coordinate with HR leadership to ensure compliant, practical policy recommendations aligned with organizational goals.

The role requires federal HR program experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university and 5+ years in HR policy analysis or related role.
• Experience supporting federal HR programs in a large multi-organization environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret HR policies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present policy documents clearly.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders to standardize HR practices.
• Experience leading or mentoring junior staff or workstream contributors.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% and work in Guidehouse offices or client sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead HR policy specialist supporting development, review, interpretation, and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and guidance.
• Lead analysis of existing human capital processes for standardization and improvement across HR operations.
• Partner with HR leadership to assess policy impacts and support enterprise-wide HR initiatives.
• Provide direction to a team researching federal HR laws, regulations, directives, and best practices.
• Prepare written policy documents, reference materials, and recommendations for leadership review.
• Support rollout of new or revised policies, coordinating with HR offices and stakeholders.
• Monitor policy implementation and identify areas for improvement and optimization.
• Oversee 2-3 staff supporting HR policy workstreams.
