Job summary

Columbus Crew is seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead HR across both the Columbus Crew and Columbus NWSL Club. You will drive talent, employee relations, and total rewards while partnering with club leadership to support enterprise people strategies.

You will oversee organizational development, workforce planning, metrics, and HR operations, mentoring the HR Manager and ensuring consistency across organizations in a fast-paced sports environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or organizational leadership is required or equivalent.
• Deep knowledge of employee relations, talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, and compliance.
• Proven ability to influence leaders and drive HR initiatives across multiple units.

Responsibilities

• Partner with CHRO to implement HR strategies across both clubs.
• Set departmental goals and foster accountability, collaboration, and improvement.
• Act as a primary HR business partner for leaders and teams across organizations.
• Ensure consistent delivery of HR programs, policies, and services.
• Guide recruiting, onboarding, performance management, engagement, and retention initiatives.
• Oversee workforce planning and talent management aligned with business needs.
• Coach managers on employee relations, leadership, and policy interpretation.
• Lead complex employee relations matters, investigations, and corrective actions.
• Support annual compensation planning and total rewards initiatives.
• Oversee benefits, wellness, and well-being programs.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and league policies.
• Oversee HR systems, records, reporting, and data management.
• Monitor workforce metrics and provide insights to leadership.
• Lead organizational development and change management for growth and transformation.
• Manage HR budgets and vendor relationships.
• Escalate risk matters to the CHRO when appropriate.
• Participate in strategic projects supporting club growth.
