Job summary

Job Juncture is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead HR for a large, unionized manufacturing operation in Columbus, Georgia. This senior HR role partners with the Plant Manager to drive labor relations, workforce strategy and organizational effectiveness.

The ideal candidate will have strong union relations experience, business judgment and the ability to build productive relationships with employees, union representatives and site leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, business or related field.
• 5+ years progressive HR experience.
• 3+ years supporting a unionized workforce.
• Manufacturing HR experience required.
• Experience administering and interpreting collective bargaining agreements.
• Ability to build productive union–management relationships.
• Experience with workforce planning, succession planning, leadership development and organizational capability building.
• Experience coaching and developing leaders and employees.

Responsibilities

• Serve as strategic HR business partner to Plant Manager and site leadership team.
• Lead site HR activities including labor and employee relations, talent acquisition, talent management, organizational development and performance management.
• Develop and maintain constructive relationships with union leadership and support labor-management collaboration.
• Administer and interpret collective bargaining agreements and lead grievances, investigations, and contract interpretation.
• Partner with union and plant leadership to address employee and workplace concerns.
• Support labor negotiations and longer-term labor relations strategy.
• Provide oversight of hourly hiring, staffing and headcount management.
• Lead workforce planning, succession planning and critical-role readiness.
• Develop frontline supervisors and leaders through training, coaching and development planning.
• Coach leaders on employee engagement, performance management and conflict resolution.
• Lead workplace investigations and ensure fair resolution of concerns.
• Use workforce data and metrics to identify issues and support business decisions.
• Lead HR and organizational change initiatives to improve operations and continuous improvement.
• Oversee employee recognition and engagement programs.
