Job summary

Magna Powertrain is seeking an experienced HR professional to lead HR operations in a manufacturing setting. You will administer policies, oversee recruitment, payroll, training, and employee relations, while ensuring legal compliance and audit readiness.

Role requires 7–10 years HR experience, proficiency with Workday and Dayforce, and strong communication skills. Occasional extended hours and weekend coverage may be needed. Magna promotes equal opportunity and a diverse workforce.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• HR certification or degree or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Workday and Dayforce.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Experience in recruitment, training, performance management, employee relations, and compensation and benefits.
• Ability to handle conflicts and stressful situations.
• Knowledge of OSHA, environmental requirements, and ISO 14001/45001.
• Experience leading investigations and audits (IATF, ISO) and supervising 1–3 years.
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work extra hours and weekends when required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in administering HR policies, Benefits, Safety, Orientation, and Training.
• Maintain confidentiality in all HR areas.
• Coordinate company functions and training registrations.
• Recruit qualified candidates: postings, interviews, references, offers.
• Create employee communications and meeting materials.
• Issue employee disciplines when required.
• Oversee Training in Workday; schedule and notify employees.
• Process payroll and benefit related tasks.
• Complete KPI's as required.
• Provide guidance to Supervisors on employee issues.
• Maintain knowledge of related employment laws.
• Assist with Training Grants and government reporting; aid audits.
