Job summary

The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) is seeking an Executive Director of Human Resources to provide strategic leadership over Employee Relations, EEO, and Learning & Organizational Development. The role reports to senior university leadership and partners with Deans, schools, and central administration to align HR strategy with institutional goals.

The Executive Director will guide workforce planning, performance management, classification and compensation, and HR services

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• 6–8 years of progressively responsible experience in organizational development, workforce planning, employee relations, and EEO compliance.
• Knowledge of HR functional areas including Benefits, HRIS, Talent Acquisition, and Classification and Compensation.
• Experience providing analytical reporting to support data-driven decisions.
• Previous supervisory experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present to senior leadership.
• Ability to interpret and implement university policies and procedures.
• Self-motivated with ability to multi-task and handle confidential material professionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and management of Employee Relations, EEO, and Learning and Organizational Development.
• Lead HR strategy, guidance to senior leaders including Deans and central administration.
• Serve as Senior HR Business Partner to advise leadership on policy, workforce planning, and organizational development.
• Oversee investigations, employee relations matters, and liaise with other HR managers.
• Manage the Director of Learning and Organizational Development and HR Partners to drive people strategy.
