Job summary

Smurfit Westrock plc is seeking a Human Resources Director for Consumer Food & Beverage West. You will be the senior HR leader supporting a 9-site manufacturing network with ~2,200 employees across the United States.

You will partner with regional and site leaders to drive a high-performance culture, employee engagement, and workforce effectiveness. You will lead an HR team, influence senior leaders, and manage labor relations while ensuring consistent HR program execution across locations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience in manufacturing operations.
• Proven ability to influence senior operational leaders with strategic HR insights.
• Strong experience in workforce planning, engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
• Demonstrated capability to manage employee relations in a multi-site environment.
• Willingness to travel ~50% to support operations across the US and Canada.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior HR leader supporting a multi-site manufacturing organization across 9 sites in the US.
• Partner with senior leaders to develop and execute a people strategy linked to business performance.
• Lead and mentor a geographically dispersed HR team with consistent execution.
• Coach leaders on organizational design, change management, and workforce decisions.
• Manage labor relations strategy including union relationships and grievance handling.
• Drive employee engagement initiatives and operational excellence through data-driven HR metrics.
