Job Title: Sr. HR Business Partner (SR.HRBP)

Department: People Department

Reports To: VP, Head of People

Location: Remote, preferred CST or MST time zone *see footer for eligible states

About The Role

The Sr. Human Resources Business Partner (Sr. HRBP) manages daily operations within the People Department, aligning with agency needs and priorities. Working closely with the Vice President of People (VPP), this role leads the development and implementation of services, policies, and programs to enhance employee satisfaction, retention, development, and legal compliance. The ideal candidate is perceptive, an excellent communicator, trustworthy, strategic, tactically capable, and maintains high integrity and confidentiality.

What You’ll Do
  • Co-manage daily operations of the People department.
  • Support organizational culture as an advocate and change agent.
  • Partner to understand HR strategies related to retention, succession, and workforce planning.
  • Recommend policies and procedures for efficiency improvements.
  • Lead employee relations and workplace investigations, keeping the VPP informed.
  • Coach managers on policies, values, and programs.
  • Assist in developing employee health benefit programs with support from Benefits Broker and VPP.
  • Align agency goals with performance objectives as a strategic partner.
  • Research and monitor total rewards programs to attract and retain top talent.
  • Evaluate employee satisfaction and attrition, recommending engagement strategies.
  • Stay informed on laws, trends, and advances, advising the team accordingly.
  • Assist with reporting, including 401K audits, BLS reporting, and workers' compensation.
  • Serve as a backup for payroll and leave administration (FMLA, STD, LTD, parental leave).
  • Lead and perform assigned projects.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or related field.
  • HR certification preferred (e.g., HRCI, SHRM).
  • 8+ years of HR experience, including benefits, compliance, employee relations, preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and proactively solve problems.
  • Organizational skills and independent work capability.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, applicant tracking, payroll, and benefits systems.
