Jump Trading Group in Chicago is seeking a Production Engineer to join our global HPC team. You will help design, operate, and optimize large-scale compute and storage systems to support quantitative research.

The role requires hands-on Linux administration, programming/scripting in Go, Python, or C, and collaboration across researchers and teams. Expect occasional evenings and weekends maintenance and travel to vendor meetings.

Qualificações

• 5+ years in HPC environments with parallel file systems and batch systems.
• 5+ years Linux system administration.
• Proficient in at least one programming language (Go/Python/C).
• Experience designing and maintaining distributed systems.
• Experience profiling and debugging application stacks.
• Familiar with configuration management tools such as SaltStack/Ansible/Puppet.
• Root cause analysis mindset and high reliability focus.

Responsabilidades

• Operate and maintain large-scale production HPC systems and storage.
• Design, implement, and optimize compute and storage infrastructure.
• Develop monitoring and fault detection for performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with researchers and team members across projects.
• Build tooling to deploy and upgrade software and OS components at scale.
• Write and improve system documentation and runbooks.
• Participate in occasional maintenance windows, evenings and weekends.
• Engage with vendors domestically and internationally as needed.
