Job summary

PGTEK is seeking a Senior High-Performance Computing (HPC) Systems Administrator with a TS/SCI clearance to manage and maintain a large-scale HPC cluster at a customer site at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.

The ideal candidate brings extensive HPC experience, deep Linux systems administration expertise, and the ability to operate independently in a complex, mission-critical technical environment.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility or access.
• At least 10 years of HPC experience with extensive Linux systems administration.
• Master's degree or 15+ years of relevant experience without master’s degree.
• Ability to independently administer, troubleshoot, and maintain complex environments.
• Strong communication and training abilities for customer teams.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain a large-scale HPC cluster with monitoring, tuning, and reliability focus.
• Troubleshoot complex issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
• Plan and execute system upgrades with minimal user disruption.
• Remediate security vulnerabilities to maintain compliance and authorization on customer network.
• Mentor customer system administrators through hands-on knowledge transfer.
• Stay current with HPC tech and best practices to improve performance and security.
